17 Weeks

17 Weeks

17 Weeks and I'm still feeling great! Brian and I made a trip to Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, and Target last week to see what we were getting our self into with all of the things we "need" for the baby. Man that was OVERWHELMING!  We went out for dinner that night and I FELT THE BABY KICK! This was the first definite movement I felt and it was awesome! Ever since then I have been feeling the "flutters". Such a weird but amazing feeling. My belly is really starting to pop!

14 Weeks

14 Weeks

Adios nausea! My nausea was gone and I had my energy back! We couldn't have planned the timing any better. Brian had my share of alcoholic drinks on vacation... he even enjoyed a bottle of wine for me one night!!! I don't think I've  ever laughed so much over dinner but it was a blast!

We had a great time on vacation. We were sad to leave but it was even more exciting to get home and start preparing for the baby!!!

April 26th-May 3rd we flew to St. Maarten. It was my dream wedding! I am truly blessed to have such an amazing man as my husband. Brian you are my best friend and can't imagine my life without you: )

Baby's Heartbeat

Baby's Heartbeat!

11 Weeks

It was so amazing to hear our little peanuts heartbeat!

12 Weeks

My nausea was starting to lighten up which I cautiously enjoyed. I didn't want to get too excited just for it to come back with full force! I didn't have any food aversions, although I could smell cigarette smoke from a mile away. Luckily my coworkers were great if someone would come in to the office that stunk really bad (to me) and they would take over:). On April 21st, 2014 Brian and I got to see the coolest thing in the world.......

Our little peanut!

10 Weeks

At 10 Weeks I was still feeling tired and didn't have much energy. I didn't have any food aversions but still didn't have too much of an appetite. Hot and spicy foods tasted really good and seemed to help with my nausea (how? I have no idea!). Hot sauce on popcorn, baked potatoes, Flaming Hot Cheetos, and I still like having my OJ. Cereal and milk were still my go-to food!

The first week after I found out I was pregnant I was REALLY tired. Over a few days I cut out all caffeine and that was tough! Luckily, I did not have really bad morning sickness. Mild nausea, lack of appetite (which for me is NOT normal :), and general fatigue sums up my first few weeks. I never got sick and didn't have any crazy food cravings..... although OJ, milk and cereal, fig newtons, and cold veggie subs were the most appetizing.

Surprise!!! : )

And so our family begins!
February 20th, 2014

Brian and I had a fun filled weekend planned to go up to Maine snowmobiling for the weekend. I woke up early so I could get ready for work and get everything pack and be ready to go for Maine early the next morning. I figured, let me take a test before the weekend "just in case"....... and here is what I got!

The line was so faint I didn't think it was possible! I looked at the test at least 50 times, went online to see what a "faint" positive looks like, and ended up sending the picture to my best friend Megan for confirmation. Sure enough, she said it was definitely a line!!! I have never been more excited or happy in my life! Just to be extra sure I took two more tests:)
The 12 hour shift I worked that day was the longest of my life! I couldn't wait to get home and tell Brian. When I got home from work I had him open this box. He, too, was beyond excited and I would say at loss for words:)

We were both shocked it happened so quickly (considering we were only going to try once before our wedding/honeymoon) I guess baby Goossens couldn't wait for us either!!! Needless to say, I didn't end up snowmobiling that weekend.
